I Think George Washington Slept Here

Actually, it was August Belmont but who's keeping score?

I didn't expect to take a trip back in history today but I did visiting this classically authentic home.  Countless attempts are made trying to capture the qualities that this home possesses in abundance.

Tucked down a quiet lane just 5 minutes from the Syosset train station is 69 Burtis Lane.  Built in 1940, it feels as if George Washington might have powdered his wig here.

About the home - It's HUGE.  5400 sq' of space on three floors. A child could find a different spot to read, play and dream the day away, everyday.  The land is 1.5 acres with a beautiful back patio and pool which communicates to a large family room addition which is functional but frankly, is the one room that needs some loving. All of the other rooms are timeless.  But practically speaking, the home is overdue for certain modernizing such as insulated windows and the like but you don't want to mess too much with Mona Lisa's smile.

At $1.599,000 someone will fall in love with this home and be very happy that they did.   I can take you over for a showing if you like.
